Our sessions

Each week at ArtAdventures we will look at the work of a particular artist. The children will get the chance to explore and investigate the artist and their work they produce through play and stories. They will also get opportunities to create their own artwork, have fun and get messy.

We encourage that children come in clothes you won’t mind them getting messy in.

Explore

As we welcome children at the start of the session, we encourage them to go to our explore area. There they will find a range of pictures of the artist's works and items linked to the artist for the children to look at and play with.

Investigate

Once all the children have arrived we will sit as a group to be introduced to the artist, talk about the painting and the artist we are exploring today as an inspiration for our create section of the workshop.

Create

Here the children with their adult are encouraged to go and create a piece of art work. There will be different stations for the children to access. They can sit at one area for the whole session or they are free to move to other stations to create other pieces of their art work. Stations and techniques will vary according to what artist we are learning about.
